DEGREE COURSES

Medicine: The Medicine degree in English for international students (360 ECTS, mandatory attendance). Graduates receive the title of "Doctor of General Medicine (MD)." Seminars, lectures, and courses focus on theoretical knowledge during the preclinical years and take place in the preclinical departments and university faculties. Duration: 6 years. Start date: the first day of November.

 

THE CITY

Sarajevo is the capital and largest city of Bosnia and Herzegovina, with a population of around 300,000. In 1984, the city hosted the XIV Winter Olympic Games. Sarajevo is located 511 meters above sea level, and some of its suburbs reach up to 900 meters, making it one of the highest cities in Europe. The city has a mild continental climate, situated between two climatic zones: the central European zone to the north and the Mediterranean zone to the south.

 

The University of East Sarajevo, Faculty of Medicine in Foča is a public university located in Lukavica, East Sarajevo, just 60 km from the capital. In the 2020/21 academic year, the university had over 8,000 enrolled students. Established in 1992, the university has gained an enviable reputation in Bosnia and Herzegovina and abroad. Since 2018, it has offered an English-taught Medicine program for international students. The university is organized into 17 faculties, where students can choose from 52 undergraduate programs and 42 graduate and postgraduate courses. It was the first public university in Bosnia and Herzegovina to receive accreditation for higher education.

 

Sarajevo International Airport is well-connected to major European capitals through numerous low-cost airlines operating in the city.

 

 

ADMISSION PROCESS

To be admitted to this university, candidates must take a written entrance exam. The exam consists of a multiple-choice test in English with 50 questions on Biology (25 questions) and Chemistry (25 questions)
