DEGREE COURSES 

Medicine: degree course for International Students, fully taught in English (360 ECTS, mandatory attendance). Graduates are awarded the title of “Doctor in Medicine (MUDr. or MD)”. Duration: 6 years. Start: last week of september.

Dentistry: degree course for International Students, fully taught in English (300 ECTS, mandatory attendance). Graduates are awarded the title of “Doctor of Dentistry (DMD)”. Duration: 5 years. Start: last week of september. 

THE CITY

The European University Cyprus is located in Cyprus, third largest island in the Mediterranean Sea, a member state of the European Union since 1st May 2004.

Founded in 1961, the European University Cyprus (EUC) with 5.000 students enrolled is the best University in Cyprus and one of the best in Mediterranean Europe. The EUC is part of the Laureate International Universities, the biggest international university organization based in Baltimore, Maryland, USA. 80 institutions in 28 countries in Europe, America, Asia, Africa and the Middle East are part of this organization, including the Universidad Europea de Madrid (UEM) and the Universidad Europea de Valencia (UEV).

The EUC is accredited by the Ministry of Education and Culture of Cyprus and is also the first institution in Cyprus and Greece that obtained the ECTS Label (European Credit Transfer and Accumulation of Credits) from the European Commission. This prestigious European recognition was granted only to 50 universities in Europe. The EUC is also a Microsoft Innovation Center.

The climate on the island is Mediterranean-subtropical, with warm and dry summers and humid but temperate winters. In the city of Nicosia the average annual value of the maximum temperature is 25.9 ° C, the minimum temperature reaches 12.5 ° C.

Greek is spoken mainly in the south of the island, while Turkish is spoken in the north. Before 1974, Greek in its Cypriot variant was spoken by 82% of population and was widely distributed in the whole island. Currently Turkish is the main language of the north. After the British rule, the English language is also widely used.

ADMISSION PROCESS

The admission process at European University Cyprus includes an evaluation of the candidate’s academic record. All candidate documentation will be evaluated by the University Committee. Remember that, the earlier you start the application process, the better are the chances to be admitted to the Medicine or Dentistry degree programs.

DEGREE RECOGNITION

The University has adapted to the "Bologna Convention" and comply to the european standards SEIS (which identify the same educational protocols in all european universities), and use the European Credit Transfer System (ECTS). This University partecipates in the Erasmus Programme, with several European Universities.
