Overview
Founded in 1919, Masaryk University is one of Czechia’s leading public universities, recognised for its tradition of scientific research and a modern approach based on technology, innovation and international cooperation.
Over the years, the university has invested heavily in laboratories and advanced infrastructure, building synergies with research institutes and international universities. It ranks among the top 150 universities in Europe (out of more than 2,500) and among the top 400 universities worldwide (out of more than 17,000).
Why choose Masaryk University
The Brno campus is one of the most modern in the region, with study areas, services and facilities designed to support student life: free access to the large 3,775 m² university library with 120 computer stations, electronic access to study and research materials, spacious common areas and dedicated study and reading zones. The campus also has sports facilities with a swimming pool, gym and playing fields, the university hospital, halls of residence and a large shopping centre with canteens, restaurants, pharmacies, banks, a supermarket, cafés and copy shops.
One of its most iconic features is the SIMU Simulation Centre of the Faculty of Medicine: an 8,000 m² simulation centre designed as a real teaching hospital, with realistic training areas such as operating theatres, wards and an emergency department. This five-storey simulation centre is one of a kind in Europe.
The Masaryk University hospital is the largest in Czechia and is twinned with the prestigious Mayo Clinic in the United States, with which it collaborates on joint research into the treatment and prevention of heart and circulatory diseases and neurological disorders.

We will answer your questions about the programmes, admission steps and student life.
