Degree programmes
At the University of East Sarajevo — Foča tuition is €3,500 per year and the programme starts on 1 November. The degree awarded is Doctor of General Medicine (MD). In the preclinical years seminars, lectures and courses are theory-oriented and take place in the preclinical departments and university faculties.
At the University of Mostar the programme lasts six years (12 semesters, 360 ECTS) and 30 places are listed for 2026/27; contact us for the updated tuition for the 2026/27 academic year. In the first years students build the scientific and biomedical foundations with subjects such as Biology, Chemistry, Medical Physics, Anatomy, Physiology and Biochemistry. The programme then moves on to preclinical and clinical subjects, with an increasing share of practical work, clinical skills and patient contact: clinical subjects dominate the fourth and fifth years and internships take place in the fifth and sixth years, including at the University Clinical Hospital Mostar.
€3,500 per year.
Dentistry runs at the University of East Sarajevo — Foča.
English — 4 years — about €3,580 per year (BAM 7,000).
Nursing in English runs at the University of East Sarajevo — Foča.
The programmes are part of the European framework (Bologna/ECTS), and the degree is recognised in Europe in accordance with the applicable standards and procedures.
City and student life

Sarajevo is the capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina and a city with a strong cultural and historical identity. It is known for hosting the 1984 Winter Olympics and for its distinctive position, between Central European and Mediterranean influences. It is reachable by international flights and connections, which makes the move easier to organise. The Faculty of Medicine is located in Foča, a more compact study environment.
Mostar is a university city in the heart of Herzegovina, very different from the large European capitals: its compact size makes it easier to organise daily life between university, accommodation and free time. The University of Mostar and the University Clinical Hospital Mostar create an environment closely linked to university and healthcare training. Mostar airport (OMO) currently has a limited number of international connections: most students arrive via Sarajevo (about 2 hours by car), Split in Croatia (about 2–2.5 hours) or Dubrovnik in Croatia (about 2.5 hours).
The indicative living cost is €350–400 per month and varies with the city, the type of accommodation and personal habits.
